The Nauvoo Experience July 25 - 26

We so enjoyed Nauvoo. What a beautiful community on the banks of the Mississippi. Settled by Mormon Saints 1839-1846, it still offers a feel of 'old time' Nauvoo with carriage rides, historic buildings and the temple pagent. Our visit caused us to contemplate the lives of the Saints that sacrificed everything to leave their homes due to continued pursecution. The most touching of our experience was the tour of Carthage Jail where Joseph and his brother were martyred.
We met many families that were from all over the country, also visiting Nauvoo for the historic experience. Simply put, it was a very moving couple of days. In the last picture, Benjamin just had to meet Joseph and Emma. That he did!

So glad Benjamin got to hang out with Joseph and Emma. It looks like they were a good pick for the parts. I would love to see the pageant there ---
